Flora + Fauna
These abstract images were first captured on film and enhanced using a special masking process developed by Jake Jacobson in 1974. These techniques involve unique photographic equipment and complicated darkroom procedures. Multiple pieces of film were used, sometimes as many as 50, for each image. All screens were hand made.
The images were first presented in 1975 as limited edition serigraphs in connection with The Richard Mann Gallery in Beverly Hills California. They have recently been digitally modified and printed with Jake Jacobson Ateliers’ original printmaking techniques. They are presented as limited editions on hand coated Arches Cold Press 640 gsm stock.
