Mexico Dreams

In 1984 Jake Jacobson was privileged to be selected as the still photographer for a P.B.S. Series for the renowned director and film maker, Charles Pavlich, on a project titled Mexico Dreams.  This was an episode in a series of short films depicting The Art and Culture of Mexico.  This episode was primarily in Oaxaca, celebrating The Day of the Dead (El Dia de los Muertos) ceremonies and the art and culture of Mexico City.  Jacobson spent about 4 weeks photographing these exceptional images that also include Monte Alban, the sacred pyramids that are the center of Zapotec and Mixtec and later Aztec culture, and The Archbishop of Mexico and The Virgin on Guadalupe celebrations.
